Consider yourself a very lucky person if you can spend your entire week in Kiev, Ukraine. It is no joke to check out all tourist attractions, museums and galleries, and dining places. But these are the things that will make your week in the city a truly memorable one. There are many hotels, tour operators and companies that offer holiday packages that will give you a very good deal for a great Kiev holiday tour.

Day 1

Get a crash course on the Ukrainian culture with an overview tour of the city. Visit the awesome St. Sophia’s Cathedral, which represents a very impressive collection of Byzantine frescoes and mosaics dating back to the 11th century. Marvel at the cathedral’s green-and-gold dome. Have your lunch at one of the city’s many restaurants that serve traditional as well as international cuisine. Enjoy a walk at Vladimirskaya Gorka, a picturesque location often referred to as “inspiration Mecca”.

Day 2

Allot a day exclusively for tasting traditional Ukranian and international cuisine. Make sure that you try out mouth-watering and delightful traditional Ukrainian cuisine, featuring the famous Ukrainian borsch (beet soup), vareniky (dumplings that have different stuffing), golubtsi (cabbage rolls), and pampushki (soft rolls soaked in oil and fresh crushed garlic).

Enjoy a dinner from any of the local restaurants that cater to a wide variety of taste preferences. Whether you are craving for a traditional Ukrainian food or classical French, American, Italian, Russian, Chinese, or Japanese delicacies, Kiev will offer you the most suitable establishments.

Day 3

Take a walk along Andreyevskyi Descent, the city’s Montmartre. Then have a sumptuous lunch at a restaurant. Make sure that you try traditional food. Then, visit the Chernobyl Museum. Also get to know Kiev’s many notable places, including St. Vladimir Cathedral, which is considered to be one of the city’s most beautiful temples. Erected in the 19th century, the cathedral is world-renowned for its unique mosaic art and fresco.

Day 4

Take your family, friends, or date to Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (Kiev Monastery of the Caves) and enjoy this amazing living piece of history that dates back to 1051. The monastery is a one-of-a-kind array of holy relics and golden dome churches. Kiev-Pechersk Lavra also contains miles of maze-like underground labyrinths (catacombs) with numerous ancient mummies in sarcophagi.

After your day tour, head back to your hotel, have dinner, and then enjoy the vivacious Kiev nightlife. London has that universal appeal and it offers entertainment that is unparalleled. Going out in the wee hours will not leave you disappointed since the city is alive 24/7 which is perfect for singles and even for couples or families who want to bond.

Day 5

If you enjoy shopping and bargaining, then you must go to one of the farmer markets in the city. Bessarabsky Rynok is the best market where you will find fresh fruits and vegetables, grown locally and some are imported.

Day 6

Take a trip to Pirogovo Village, an open air museum that features churches, houses, and mills from the different regions of the country. Pirogovo is also nice a place to enjoy traditional food and buy local craft, which ranges from accessories, embroidery, wooden kitchenware, and many more.

Day 7

Save this day to enjoy the city at your own pace. Kiev offers a lot of activities for those who want to have adrenaline rush and spice up their vacation. Try parachute jumping or paintball to make your Kiev experience truly memorable. After your adrenaline-pumping activities, you may want to relax at one of the city’s sauna, a great way to enjoy a warm and cozy atmosphere
